The film

Oema foe Sranan / Women of Suriname (1978) is a documentary by Cineclub Vrijheidsfilms and LOSON(1), made in the context of the then recent independence of Suriname. The film follows four women who, through personal stories, tell the history of colonialism, neo-colonialism and discrimination there, in Suriname, and here, in the Netherlands.
